Well, I am now married. The past two plus months have been great, and we just got back from our honeymoon. Jamaica was great, even the water had rum in it, and i decided that as part of the experience I would get a good case of diarrhea for pretty much the entire trip, so that was great. It was actually my plan to try and not gain very much if any weight on the trip, but instead of working out, i just crapped my guts out about 7-8 times a day.
I'm half-way done with school, and have 16 credits left to take this semester, so hopefully that will go well. Work is going well. I like my co-workers, and I work just the right amount, my schedule isn't that great, but they're only 8 hour shifts, so it's not bad. I'm still working straight nights, which is only tough during clinicals, but it's only for another semester. We have a terrible dog, an 8 month old black lab, maggie. She is horrible, but we love her, and she will hopefully do well with puppy school this coming summer, maybe sooner. She seems smart at times, and completely crazy at others. We're praying for her!
I'll try to write on here more often, and keep ya'll current on our life together (Jodi and I), but I can't promise anything.
p.s. Sorry for the lack of humor in this post... i'm working on some new material for my next post...

For once in my life, things are going right...
I am still alive, and I will try to keep this blog up to date more often than I have. I am really exhausted after just finishing up my first ever 4.0 semester!!! My overall GPA is now up to 3.2. I also just found out that I am now in the nursing program at Lake Superior College for the fall. It is actually a new program that they are just now starting for people who are already LPN's working, and have competed all of their pre-req's and have a high enough GPA. I may not finish up until the summer of '09 as some of the clinical time is spread out more to accomodate more students.
I also bought a new set of golf clubs, and all of them are coming slowly but surely in the mail and such. I am pretty much just waiting on the iron set to be delivered to Nevada Bob's so I can pick them up and start my PGA career if the whole nursing thing doesn't work out. I spent a good deal of money on everything, but I figure that this set will last me for the next 10-15 years so it will be worth the investment.
In addition I am on a "program" that I should have a majority of my debt paid off by the time that Jodi and I are married this fall. I finally started to read and implement a program from a book that my parents bought for me before I went to Germany. The book is "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. Good book with some great advice in it. As long as you're willing to be serious about saving money and paying off debt. Anyhow, I digress...
And finally, we are getting ever closer(just over 5 months) to me marrying the greatest woman in the world!!! It still hasn't really set in that it's only 5 or so months away, but it's starting to with the wedding plans and everything. I really am looking forward to getting all of the wedding stuff over with and just being married. And then the fairytale begins right? Well, I know that I will be happy!
Until next time...

done with finals...
So, I am finally done with my classes... i actually enjoyed one of them, but the other will forever give me nightmares about microbes, and big lesbians with raspy voices. just to give you a sense of who was teaching my class, I did a google image search with my professors name... and the result is the picture you see before your eyes. no joke! although i'd say this picture must be a few years old as she weighs about 100 more pounds now, her face isn't that narrow anymore either.
Well as many of you know, I am engaged to be married. The tenative date is Nov 1, 2008. We start meeting with places (i.e. chuch, reception...) today... I can't wait! I guess I never realized how much went into planning a wedding. I think the biggest hurdle will be to settle on a dress, I have to lose weight first though. seriously, I'm fat. I think that I am about 55 pounds heavier than I was when I graduated high school, that's down about 25 pounds from when I got back from germany, but I still have about 20 to go before I will feel good enough to wear a dress on my big day. I still feel young and spry, but when i show up to play broom ball on tuesdays, they always ask me to be the goalie. now I think I know how greg goldberg felt... check that reference!
My job is going well, I've been working straight nights since this summer, and I prefer that. Other than having about 3 hours of sleep a day, it's great! Once I get accepted into the nursing program at my school, I will be done in just under one calander year with the program. I'll be able to stay at St. Luke's and work as an RN, until I can convince Jodi that life does exsist outside of the greater duluth/superior metropolitan area, and the iron range. i'd like to eventually end up somewhere else, at least the twin cities if not further. but that's a whole other post on my blog of life...
